STEP to the Sea Virtual Field Trips
STEP to the Sea Virtual Field Trip Series: Every Monday from May 4th - June 8th
Welcome to the MBSTP STEP to the Sea virtual field trip series! Please join MBSTP and our Field Naturalist Richard Tejeda for a series of six virtual field trips. We will go on a journey through your watershed, following the life of a salmon from the headwaters of a local river to the sea. Richard will meet you on Zoom and guide you through the world of salmon! You can ask questions and we will help you find the answers, LIVE!
The 50-minute sessions will be each Monday at 1PM, starting on May 4th. Doing the advance experiments at home will take about 60-90 minutes each. Most activities use materials that you can find right at home. If you can’t find the materials, just work your way through the lesson and be creative using whatever you can find in the house, or read through the lesson so you can think of questions to ask Richard. Get ready, this is going to be a lot of fun!
If you don’t already have access to Zoom video on your computer, tablet, or phone, download the free app before the virtual field trips: https://zoom.us/download
At about 12:50PM on the day of the session, click on the Zoom link on your registration confirmation to join in. During the field trip, use your first name only, and keep your microphone muted when you’re not using it. Use the “raise hand” button on the “participants” window if youhave a question. Some tips on using Zoom are explained in this video: https://youtu.be/5iap0Ffl5Lg
